Come and volunteer for a few hours in the Native Planting Site on the Dequindre Cut Walking, Jogging, and Biking Trail. Make new friends, learn about native plants and get some great exercise. The Native Planting Site is very close to the Detroit River and sometimes you can hear the lake freighters traveling up and down the river! If you know of a special group or organization that would like to volunteer for a few hours other than the scheduled workdays (Saturday), special arrangements can be accommodated.
We will be meeting on the second and fourth Fridays, May thru September. Volunteer hours are 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The first workday is May 13th. Parking is available in the gated parking lot next to the site. Entrance to the parking lot is on Woodbridge just East of Orleans St. If possible, notify the Garden Center the day before that you plan on volunteering.
